Pays de l'Arbresle : enquête anthropocène à travers territoires, sciences et arts.
En juin 2021, l'Ecole urbaine de Lyon a mis en place la première formation doctorale, faisant travailler des doctorants de sciences humaines et sciences expérimentales, en situation d'enquête avec des experts issus des arts et arts appliqués.
Au cours d'une semaine de travail, 10 doctorants (disciplines : chimie de l’air, écologie, micro-météorologie, bactériologie, économie, agro-alimentaire, informatique, géographie) et 10 professionnels (scénographes, curateur, peintre, photographe, architecte, urbaniste et dessinatrice) ont travaillé ensemble pour répondre à une commande publique d’enquête anthropocène, ayant pour objectif le développement d’un parcours artistique pour la Communauté de Communes du Pays de l'Arbresle (CCPA).
Durant 6 jours, le groupe a été immergé sur le site, travaillant de 9h00 à 22h30.
1. Marche de 18 km sur le parcours artistique proposé par la Communauté de Communes (définition des contours collectifs).
2. Initiation de micros-études de terrains individuels et groupés.
3. Rencontres planifiées avec les acteurs du territoire (eaux, assainissement, forêts, architecture, associations, acteurs économiques, agriculture, transports, maires…).
4. Rencontres spontanées au gré du parcours.
5. Collectes de data (externes et internes).
6. Atelier d’écriture créative (45 minutes).
7. Positionner des enjeux étudiés sur un coupe du territoire.
8. Faire émerger les problématiques en carte.
9. Elaborer un rapport individuel avec des délais courts.
10. Présenter et exposer les enjeux complexes aux acteurs et aux pouvoirs locaux en l’état.

In June 2021, we set up the first doctoral training coming from the humanities and experimental sciences in conjunction with experts from the arts and applied arts. During one week of work, on site day and night, a team of 20 participants, 10 PhD students (Disciplines: air chemistry, ecology, micro-meteorology, bacteriology, economics, agri-food, computer science, geography, psychology) and 10 professionals (scenographer, curator, painter, photographer, architect, urban planner and artist) worked together to respond to a public commission for an anthropocene survey with the objective of developing an artistic pathway out of Lyon metropolitan area (CCPA)
For 6 days the group was immersed on the site and worked from 9am to 10.30pm.
Mains tools mobilize for our work and report :
1. An 18 km walk along the artistic route defined by the community of communes ( Objective definition of collective contours beyond boundaries both physical and human)
2. Initiation of individual and grouped micro field studies.
3. Meetings with the actors and governance of the planned territory (water, sanitation, forests, architecture, associations, economic actors, agriculture, transport, mayors...)
4. Spontaneous meetings as and when required with inhabitants and actors.
5. Data collection (external and internal)
6. Creative writing workshop (45 minutes)
7. Positioning the issues studied on a section of the territory
8. Drawing up map of the issues.
9. Defining our territory grid of reading
10. Complete an individual report with short deadlines.
11. Present and expose the complex issues to the stakeholders and local authorities as they stand.
In addition, every evening :
Lectures by experts on their research in relation to art production.
In 6 days, the doctoral students learned to work with different discipline and cross their research. They learned how confront a territory ? How to answer to a public commission beyond the demand ? How to deal with the inter-relation between inhabitants and actors?
